Midway Station
Nye County
The Nevada Map Atlases (Benchmark, Delormes), this place is listed as Midway Station. All of the Lat/Long sites that I use for historic locations list it as Midway Station too. Yet, I can't find a single thing written about it by the Nevada historians. I'm sure it's out there, I just haven't found it yet. When I do, this page will be updated with that information. There was definitely something here at one point. There are some old corrals and a piece of old machinery. We also found a modern ear tag from a dead R.O. Cattle Company cow. If I had to guess, this place would have been a stage stop connecting the Smoky or Ione Valleys, to someplace further south like Millers or Tonopah. But again, that's a total guess.
Last Trip/ Road Conditions: May 2015. There's a really good dirt road that gets you to the general area. You can park on this road and walk the last 600 yards, or you can drive the smaller dirt road over to the site. I don't remember the smaller road being bad at all. I do know that we didn't need four-wheel drive.
